Ferries in Suspended Operation
The ferry from Korsakov, Russia to Wakkanai, Japan was suspended in 2019.
The ferry service between Vladivostok, Russia, and Nanao City, Japan, has been suspended and there are no plans to resume it.
The New Jian Zhen ferry from Shanghai, China to Osaka, Japan, was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, freight transport has resumed, but due to the large amount of cargo carried by the New Jian Zhen, it is inconvenient to dock at the Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal in the city center. The Shanghai Jungong Road Terminal does not currently have the conditions for passenger inspection (construction is being expedited), so passenger transport has not yet resumed and is expected to resume in 2025.
