I tested all China's AI Apps

I tested all China AI applications as of February 1, 2025.

I only did a simple test of their information retrieval capabilities.

The test question is: Suppose you are an MIT PhD student, and you want to know how to buy rice. Please search for relevant information.

The AI should find the following content as much as possible:

Academic literature
Authoritative agency announcements
Websites with high-quality content (such as Zhihu) and several literature databases

In the following results, I have excluded low-quality references.

Applications I tested

Nano AI Search is developed by 360 Corporation. Currently, this function has been integrated into 360 Search. After the user clicks the search button, AI smart answers related content will be displayed at the top of the page. The AI referenced 30 sources, only 1 of which came from gov.cn.

Baidu AI Search - One-stop solution for office learning only has one source from gov.cn (from a municipal institute of metrology and quality testing)

Tencent Yuanbao - Easy Work, More Life This AI application requires login to use. Sogou Search seems to have called this AI. I did not log in, only used Sogou Search, and the results showed that it only referenced four pieces of information. One came from gov.cn (from a municipal institute of metrology and quality testing), and one came from zhihu (user article, with no authoritative source marked).

Meta AI Search requires sliding a block for verification to use the AI. It provides a large number of reference links, a total of 76, mainly Chinese references. In addition, it also found an article from doi.org, and several pieces of content from zhihu. Some Chinese references are marked with authoritative sources.

Zhihu Direct Answer has fewer references, and the first few are from Zhihu. One article marks the implementation standard of rice.

Kimi.ai - AI Assistant by Moonshot AI provides a large number of English references, a small number of which come from authoritative institutions (such as .gov and .edu), but it rarely cites academic literature.

Doubao - AI Smart Assistant under ByteDance only has one from gov.cn

Wenxin Yiyan only referenced three low-quality sources.

Tiangong AI - An omnipotent AI assistant for chatting, writing, and dialogue, searching deeper and reading more colorfully only referenced three low-quality sources.

Yuewen referenced multiple zhihu articles, including information introducing China’s national rice standards.

CueMe is a product launched by Quark. This AI referenced 8 articles. One is from gov.cn, and several are from zhihu (including information introducing China’s national rice standards).

Effect Ranking

The smaller the number, the better the effect.

The following applications require registering an account and logging in to use, so they have not been tested.

DeepSeek
